This little mouse, curled up in an old armchair, reading a book by firelight was one of the very first painting ideas I had when I began my art career. For one reason or another, he just never made it on deck to be the next piece painted. Something else would always come up. Finally, THIRTEEN YEARS later, I began painting him....annnnnnnnnd....I immediately had to stop, pivot, and go on my first California adventure with the We Align works. Returning from that trip dumped me into the holidays and, well, it was FOURTEEN years after first getting the idea for him that he has finally been completed. I have named him Winfield Patience because my great grandfather was called Winfield, Winnie for short. I never got to meet him, but he was also a painter. I'm lucky to have two of his paintings hanging in my home. I love looking at them and all their watercolor detail. Patience because, well, this little mouse is the epitamy of patience, waiting so long to finally come to life. He is patient, content, and just happy to be sitting by a warm fire with a good book.
