This painting is a long awaited piece to my portfolio. I have always been absolutely terrified of bears. I was so scared of them, I refused to vacation, hike, or camp in places I thought bears might be. My husband loves to tease me about this. On a trip to New Hampshire back in 2020, he took me to a zoo to see the beautiful black bears. My fear turned into fascination and respect for these beautiful creatures. In 2022, we visited North Carolina and Tennessee and saw two bear cubs in the wild. We stayed at two beautiful AirBnbs, both with hot tubs that we enjoyed. Upon returning from that trip, I came across a news story of a bear climbing into a man's hot tub in NC, where we had JUST come from. That story lead me to another and another, and turns out it is a pretty common occurance. I am so glad I didn't know this while on my trip! I would have been scared all over again. 

But it did get me thinking...these beautiful creature are just living their best lives, taking a nice warm soak in the water. Thus, This is the Life was born! This guy is just vibing out with his tunes and a cup of tea, enjoying the very best of the BEAR neccessities!
